Editorial Standards
These are the standards LOL242 follows in everything we publish.
Accuracy
We report facts we can support. News items name their source, such as police statements, court records, government announcements or established news outlets. If something is unconfirmed, we say so. Mistakes are fixed under our Corrections Policy.
Presumption of innocence
A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty. We report what was charged and said in court as allegations, not as facts. We do not accuse named people of crimes without an official source.
No graphic violence
We report on crime and tragedy, but we do not publish videos or images of killings, executions, dead bodies or injured victims.
No hate speech
We do not publish slurs or content attacking people for their race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexuality. Comments that do this are blocked.
Satire is labeled
Humor and satire are part of who we are. Any satire piece is clearly labeled as satire / humor so no one mistakes it for real news.
Reader stories
Anonymous reader stories are shared as personal accounts. We remove details that could identify private people.
Sponsored content is labeled
Paid features, business profiles and sponsorships are clearly labeled as sponsored. Sponsors do not control our news coverage.
Takedown on notice
If you believe a post is false, unfair, invades your privacy or uses your content without permission, message the Bahama Drama Facebook Page or comment on the post with the link and your reason. We will review it promptly and, where the complaint is supported, correct the post or take it down while we review.
