Double Dating Two Superpowers
Double Dating Two Superpowers
A Bahamian Citizen’s Confidential Warning to the American People
This is not an official statement.
Not a government memo.
Not a classified leak.
Just a citizen in the Bahamas speaking honestly to the American people, the neighbors we see more than anyone else, the visitors we host every winter, the nation whose shadow touches the ocean around us every day.
A warning is not the same as an accusation.
A prediction is not the same as evidence.
But patterns have weight, and silence has consequences.
For too long, people in the Bahamas have whispered the same thing under their breath:
Something in this region is shifting. Quietly. Slowly. Strategically.
Most Bahamians feel it.
Most Americans do not.
And by the time Washington notices, the shift may already be written into the soil.
This is not a story about fear.
It is a story about patterns, economic, political, cultural, and psychological, that point toward a foreseeable future the United States keeps refusing to address.
A future where China holds more influence in the Bahamas than America.
A future where proximity does not equal power.
A future where the Caribbean becomes a geopolitical chessboard instead of a vacation brochure.
I am not telling you this to cause panic.
I am telling you because ignoring patterns never ends well for empires, or small nations caught between them.
The Reality No One Wants to Admit
China is not invading the Bahamas.
China is not threatening the Bahamas.
China is not forcing anything.
They are simply doing what global powers do when the existing superpower becomes reactive instead of proactive.
While Washington focuses on crises far away, Venezuela, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Beijing focuses on something closer, simpler, and more strategic:
Small islands with big location value.
And the Bahamas sits right on America’s doorstep.
The closest non–U.S. landmass to Florida.
If a nation wants influence near American soil, it doesn’t need missiles or bases.
It only needs:
• Economic partnerships
• Development projects
• Cultural visibility
• Long-term financial entanglement
• Political alignment through convenience, not ideology
The Bahamas is walking into this transformation naturally, not maliciously.
Small nations survive by partnering with whoever shows up with resources.
And China shows up consistently.
America shows up occasionally.
That is the difference.
Why Bahamians Are Concerned
And Why Americans Should Be Too
This is not about fear of China.
This is about the vacuum America has created.
A vacuum created by:
• election distractions
• inconsistent foreign policy
• ignoring allies until they become problems
• reacting only after influence has already shifted
America used to act early.
Now it waits until the hole is too big to plug.
The Bahamas cannot afford to wait.
So when China steps in with long-term investments, grants, partnerships, training programs, and loans, Bahamians accept.
Not because of loyalty.
But because of survival.
That’s how influence grows:
not by force, but by filling gaps.
What Bahamian Citizens Quietly Fear
Not invasion.
Not takeover.
But something more subtle:
Losing transparency, losing agency, losing balance.
When one giant becomes the primary development partner, the smaller nation becomes vulnerable to imbalance.
Not captured — just tilted.
Not controlled — just influenced.
This is why freedom of information laws struggle.
Why political transparency feels fragile.
Why citizens sense a shift they cannot fully explain.
The Bahamas needs both nations.
But one is showing up faster than the other.
What Americans Must Understand
If this trajectory continues, financially, politically, culturally, psychologically, the Bahamas could become:
• strategically aligned with Beijing
• economically dependent on Chinese infrastructure
• culturally blended with Chinese presence
• politically cautious of Western pressure
This is not destiny.
It is a foreseeable probability based on observable behavior.
This is not an attack on China.
China is simply playing the global game America taught the world.
This is a message to Americans:
Your closest neighbor is becoming a geopolitical prize while your leaders look away.
If the U.S. wants influence in the Bahamas, it must show up,
not with military might,
not with pressure,
but with partnership.
Real partnership.
Consistent partnership.
Proactive partnership.
Otherwise, in four years, Washington will look back and realize:
the Caribbean shifted while America argued among itself.
A Final Word from a Bahamian Citizen
I am not a politician.
Not a diplomat.
Not a spy.
Just someone who sees the patterns clearly because I live inside them.
The Bahamas loves the United States.
But alliances are not built on feelings.
They are built on presence.
And right now, only one superpower is consistently present.
The other is distracted.
This article is not an accusation.
It is a warning.
A friendly one.
A necessary one.
Because if America doesn’t open its eyes now,
it will be too late to complain later.
The Caribbean is shifting.
History is moving.
The map is changing.
And the future won’t wait for anyone to catch up.

Well there’s a Bahamian song that talks about this, say when you’re out there looking for sugar, someone’s gah taste your honey. And China is definitely tasting it all in the Bahamas! Oh and China does not require a travel Visa for Bahamian citizens to enter Beijing for 30 days as the US does and their our closest neighbors. While the United States is playing Chess, China is playing the game of Go.

Who murdered human compassion
Who murdered human compassion
The world feels heavier these days. Not because suffering is new, but because compassion is slipping out of our hands more quietly than ever. You can sense it everywhere. People move through life with guarded eyes, rushing past one another without truly seeing anything. News of violence scrolls across our screens like background noise. Wars rage in places that barely get a mention. Families drift apart, friendships crumble, and strangers stop noticing when someone around them is hurting.
But beneath all of this, the deeper truth remains: humanity is starving for empathy.
Everyone is carrying wounds, but nobody wants to speak them aloud. Everyone is tired, but few admit it. Somewhere along the road, people learned to protect themselves first and feel later. This survival mindset may seem practical, but it’s quietly breaking us from the inside out.
Empathy used to be the heartbeat of community. It was the reason strangers would stop to comfort someone crying in public. It was the energy that made neighbors check in during storms or hard times. It was the force that made nations hesitate before turning to violence. But today empathy is treated almost like a liability. People fear being taken advantage of. They fear their softness will be used against them. So they close their hearts and build emotional armor, believing it will make life easier.
But when a society shuts down its empathy, cruelty becomes normal.
Look at the world now. Wars aren’t rare tragedies anymore. They happen constantly, quietly, and devastatingly. Some wars get broadcast across the world. Others unfold in silence, unseen and unspoken. Innocent people die in places whose names most will never learn. Powerful nations fight for dominance. Smaller ones fight for existence. Children fall asleep to the sound of bombs instead of bedtime stories.
That’s the world we’re living in, a world where violence is common and compassion is optional.
But violence doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it whispers. Sometimes it shows up as a broken spirit hiding behind a smile. Sometimes it looks like a woman carrying pain no one notices. A teenager drowning in loneliness. A family living together physically but drifting emotionally in different directions. Suffering is everywhere, but we’ve trained ourselves not to look.
Yet even in the darkness, there is hope, because real compassion doesn’t depend on perfect circumstances. Real compassion is when someone extends kindness while they themselves are hurting. Anyone can be gentle when life is easy. True empathy is when you choose to care even with your own heart cracked open.
That is the kind of compassion that changes communities.
Imagine what could happen if people started truly seeing one another again. Imagine someone having a terrible day but still offering a small gesture of kindness to a stranger. Imagine someone drowning in worry but still offering a word of encouragement to someone who needed it. Imagine a person who has lost so much still finding strength to comfort someone else who feels alone.
This is the kind of energy that heals societies, one moment at a time.
Compassion doesn’t demand a painless life. It asks only for a willing heart. And when one person chooses empathy in the middle of their own struggle, it creates a ripple effect. That one act inspires others. It reminds people that humanity isn’t gone, it’s just waiting for someone brave enough to spark it again.
The world may feel cold, chaotic, and distant, but it isn’t beyond repair. We can bring back love. We can restore empathy. We can relearn compassion even while walking through our own storms.
And maybe empathy means the most when it’s offered from a place of pain. Because when someone is hurting but still chooses to love, their love becomes powerful. It becomes rare. It becomes healing.
And it may be exactly what the world needs to find its heart again.

This American Youtuber took drone footage of the grounded Abaco barge and the many 40 feet Containers and it’s epic. He even used some of our video content which made it even more informative. Check it out on his YouTube channel link below and don’t forget to follow his channel and our Facebook page as well.
Another thing is, he didn’t bash anyone from Abaco because of the unfortunate miscommunication and situation everyone found themselves in the blinking of an eye; was false hope and a trap with unnecessary police record and criminal charges.

*The People Over Party*
___________________
I’ve represented The Bahamas globally for more than 30 years long before any official title.
And I will continue doing so for the rest of my life.
I serve as an Ambassador for The Bahamas, not for any political party.
The honor Prime Minister Davis extended to me recognized my citizenship by jus sanguinis “the right of blood” and acknowledged a lifelong commitment to our nation.
My loyalty is, and always will be, to the Bahamian people and to the mission of making The Bahamas number one in the world.
As your Ambassador, I work with and for all Bahamians not as a political ally, but as a citizen who wants better for our country.
Freedom of Speech & The By-Election
_________________________________
Some supporters of the current administration have suggested that because I am an Ambassador, I should not be commenting on the Golden Isles by-election.
Yet at the same time, a sitting ambassador with a portfolio is openly endorsing a candidate while currently running for office himself.
So the question is simple:
*Are ambassadors free to speak on national matters, or only some Ambassadors and only on party lines?*
If one ambassador is permitted to speak, endorse, and advocate, then I am certainly permitted to speak respectfully and truthfully in service to the people.
*I will not be discouraged from speaking about the future of our country.
Why I Spoke on Golden Isles*
_________________________
My comments were not an endorsement.
They were a reminder to the voters of Golden Isles about the importance of this moment and the responsibility to evaluate candidates based on leadership, competence, and track record.
For transparency: I know Darron Pickstock as a lawyer.
That is the extent of what I can speak to.
When asked to endorse him as a leader, I answered honestly:
*“I don’t know him as a leader.”*
The person responded:
“But he is a lawyer.”
I understand historically, we have elected lawyers not because of proven leadership, but because legal minds were essential during the fight for independence.
*Today, our challenges are different: affordability, opportunity, national development, innovation, and global competitiveness that require leaders who understand the law, follow the law, and can help build the business of this country.*
Lawyers debate and negotiate well but right now,
*The Bahamas doesn’t need more words.
Bahamians are waiting on an affordable, livable life.
We need leaders who deliver results.*
Accountability, Not Partisanship
___________________________
Some of our past and current leaders former PM Ingraham, former PM Christie, and Prime Minister Davis have battled each other publicly for years.
Yet behind the scenes, they respect each other, understand each other, and often work together.
I understand that dynamic.
When I played with Shaq and Kobe, the world saw arguments and conflict.
People questioned whether we were even on the same team.
*But those public battles were about excellence, accountability, and championships.*
Off the court, they are my brothers for life.
Great teams challenge each other publicly because winning matters.
Great teams unite privately because they understand the mission.
The Mission: The Bahamas Number One.
What we need now is simple:
*Fierce accountability.
Leaders who push each other to greatness.*
That is how we will build a world-class nation.
My Commitment
______________
When I speak on national matters, I do not hold back out of fear, friendship, or family ties.
Truth strengthens us.
Accountability protects us.
Courage moves us forward.
Recently, I was advised to seek guidance on what I’m “allowed” to say as an Ambassador.
This was surprising, because I was never told that accepting this role meant limiting my freedom of speech.
My understanding was the opposite: that I was appointed to advocate for The Bahamas, not to remain silent for political comfort.
If “silly season” now requires placing party interests above the national interest, that would be a complete departure from what the Prime Minister communicated to me.
If that ever becomes the expectation, he can call me in and ask for my resignation directly.
For four years, the Prime Minister and I have spoken regularly.
He has never raised any concern about my work including my recent encouragement to the voters of Golden Isles to vote wisely and independently.
Until he tells me otherwise, I will continue to serve in the way I was appointed to serve.
And so let me be clear:
Some may have forgotten that the mandate is People Over Party, not political survival over truth.
The people decide who stays and who goes.
Our duty is to serve them well while we are here.
Title or no title, I will continue to speak honestly, challenge all of us including myself and fight for a stronger, more united, more competitive Bahamas.
My commitment remains the same:
I will always choose “The People Over Party”.

Abaco Barge Now Leaning
Growing Fears of Environmental Disaster
Good night, Bahama Drama. Please keep me anonymous.
Residents in Abaco are reporting new and troubling developments regarding the barge currently grounded on the reef. According to individuals who operate boats in the area, the vessel has begun to noticeably lean to one side. Several containers now appear unstable, raising concerns that they could topple into the ocean at any moment.
If that happens, the country could be facing a multimillion-dollar environmental catastrophe in Bahamian waters. The question on everyone’s mind tonight is simple.
Who will be held responsible if this situation gets worse, the barge owners or the so called looters?

We saw this coming, to be honest. Anyway we’ll do a full investigation in the morning to see if this information is true…
