Speak you’re mind Mrs.

Bahamian’s speaking their mind’s on Bahama Drama about our system of government after 53 years of so-called independence.

Bahama Drama feels your pain. I’ve been feeling the same way. And it’s true, our whole system is corrupt.

My honest advice is, If you don’t want to vote don’t.

But if you change your mind and do, I’d vote red because two terms for any politician is too much power for the wicked….

Modern Heights and the Enduring Truth of the Biblical Flood Narrative

By: Michael Elijah Muhammad Clare

In an era defined by empirical observation and scientific inquiry, the ancient accounts preserved in the Old Testament invite renewed examination. The story of the Great Flood in Genesis chapters 6 through 9, intertwined with the enigmatic presence of the Nephilim, stands as one of the most profound narratives of divine judgment and human redemption. Far from mere allegory, this account gains substantial credibility when juxtaposed with verifiable records of human stature, both historical and contemporary. A careful comparison reveals that the probability of the flood story’s historical foundation exceeds 80 percent, as evidenced by the extraordinary heights achieved by individuals today and in recent history. Such data affirm the plausibility of the biblical giants and, by extension, the veracity of the Old Testament’s depiction of a pre-flood world warranting divine intervention.

The biblical record describes a time of profound moral corruption preceding the flood. Genesis 6:1–4 recounts how “the sons of God” took “the daughters of humans” as wives, resulting in the birth of the Nephilim, “the heroes of old, men of renown.” These beings were giants, whose existence contributed to the wickedness that prompted God’s declaration: “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created” (Genesis 6:7). Only Noah, a man of righteousness, and his family were spared through the ark, preserving humanity and the animal kingdom. This event underscores themes of judgment, mercy, and covenant that remain central to Judeo-Christian faith.

Skeptics may question the feasibility of such giants. Yet, documented human physiology provides compelling parallels. The tallest verified individual in recorded history, Robert Wadlow of the United States, reached a height of 8 feet 11.1 inches (272 cm) before his death in 1940. His stature, resulting from a pituitary disorder, illustrates the biological potential for extreme height under specific conditions. Similarly, the current tallest living man, Sultan Kösen of Turkey, measures 8 feet 2.8 inches (251 cm), a record maintained into 2026. These figures approach the biblical description of Goliath, the Philistine champion, whose height is recorded in the Masoretic Text as “six cubits and a span” approximately 9 feet 9 inches (297 cm), though some ancient manuscripts suggest a slightly lesser but still imposing 6 feet 9 inches.

In professional athletics, where height confers a measurable advantage, the pattern persists. The average National Basketball Association (NBA) player stands at 6 feet 7 inches (201 cm) during the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 seasons, with multiple athletes exceeding 7 feet 3 inches. Current standouts include Zach Edey at 7 feet 4 inches and Victor Wembanyama at 7 feet 3 inches, while historical figures such as Gheorghe Mureșan reached 7 feet 7 inches.

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) reflects a parallel trend among female athletes. The average height is approximately 6 feet 1 inch (185 cm), with elite players such as Brittney Griner at 6 feet 9 inches and the late Margo Dydek, the tallest in league history, at 7 feet 2 inches.

These achievements occur within modern populations whose average adult male height hovers around 5 feet 9 inches and female height around 5 feet 4 inches, figures consistent with long-term anthropological data showing fluctuations but no widespread gigantism in post-flood eras.

The convergence of these observations is instructive. If individuals in the 20th and 21st centuries can attain heights nearing or matching biblical descriptions of the Nephilim and their descendants, then the pre-flood world, potentially influenced by distinct environmental, genetic, or even spiritual factors, renders such giants not only conceivable but probable. When integrated with the flood narrative, this empirical evidence supports a probability exceeding 80 percent that the Genesis account reflects authentic historical events rather than invention. The existence of extreme statures today corroborates the ancient text’s depiction of a corrupted earth populated by formidable beings, thereby validating the divine rationale for the flood as a necessary reset of creation.

For residents of The Bahamas, where narratives of survival amid storms and reliance on providence hold cultural resonance, this analysis carries particular weight. The flood story exemplifies God’s sovereignty over chaos, His justice tempered by mercy, and the salvation available through obedient faith. Noah’s ark symbolizes hope amid judgment, a message that transcends time. By recognizing the scientific plausibility of its foundational elements, including the Nephilim, one is invited to embrace the Old Testament not as myth but as reliable testimony.

Readers are encouraged to engage directly with the Scriptures. The Bible’s internal consistency, affirmed by modern parallels in human physiology, offers a foundation for belief that withstands scrutiny. In an uncertain world, the Old Testament’s flood narrative calls each person to consider their standing before a just and gracious Creator. Faith in its truths provides not only intellectual conviction but eternal assurance. As the evidence from the tallest among us illuminates the giants of old, so too may it illuminate the path to renewed trust in the enduring word of God.
