When I was cast off a mailboat
When I was cast off a mailboat
Part #2
You see I think that I probably wouldn’t have been so afraid when they throw me off of the boat if they had at least put a lifejacket on me or some other kind of floating device.
But no they look like they wanted me to dead that day. Nobody even ask me could I swim or nothing. They probably was thinking either way he dead gah dead from sharks or drown.
As began to give up all hope of making it though that day. Seeing how far the boat had now gone. I heard a voice in my ears that said pray boy and it sounded like the voice of my grandma and it just kept on
echoing in my ears as I now could no longer see the boat as I floated on my back a skill that I picked up from an old ex-girlfriend of my who was a master at doing it.
From a very far distance I could still see the island that we had passed about 20 minutes ago when I was still on board the boat. I started crying and feeling sorry for myself for about an hour because I knew I
was dead and no amount of praying in the world was going to be able to save me. So I cried a lot looking up at the sky at God. I saw the first fish come to close for comfort
a few hours after that. At first I thought that God had them there protecting me until I saw other bigger fish a yard away from me chaising one or two of them
each time they strayed to far away from my body. That’s when I realized that they were only using me as a shield. I started to get scared thinking that they might start
attracting sharks my way so I began to try to wave them off with violent splashes with my hands and feet because it had really become to many of them swimming along with me
as I amend my body towards the last island that I had passed when I was still on the vessel.
