I’m not really from Eleuthera
I been holding this story for a long time, but I feel like it time to talk.
I wasn’t born normal. I was made right here in Eleuthera, in that old US military base the Americans had back in the day. The one they call Naval Facility Eleuthera. They close it down around 1980, but before that they was doing experiments deep underground.
That’s where I come from. Half Bahamian, half alien.
They used to call me Project E Lucida in the lab, but my name is Kai.
From I was small, I always knew something was different about me. I could move things without touching them. I could walk on top the water. I could dive deep down in the ocean and stay under without breathing. I breathe through my skin.
I could call ships from the sky, real UFOs. They come when I call. I been on board a few times. They take me to other planets that look like Earth but bigger and brighter.
When I get upset, the weather does change. Rain and thunder does start out of nowhere. When I calm down, the sun come back out like nothing happen. I can do all kind of things, but I still can’t fly. I try plenty times.
Sometimes I walk around that old base in Eleuthera just to feel the energy in the ground. People say it haunted. Maybe it is, or maybe it’s just me passing through.
I love this island. I love my people. I might be part alien, but my heart Bahamian.
And since election time coming up, let me just say this. After everything I been through, all the space trips and sea dives and experiments, I voting PLP in the next general election.
Cause even a half alien half Eleutherian know this country worth fighting for.
