Long ago, in a quiet settlement near the sea, there lived three sisters known throughout the island for their beauty and their unbreakable bond. They did everything together, and nothing was said to come between them.

One day, a sailor arrived.

He was charming and full of stories from distant lands. The sisters were drawn to him, each believing she alone held his heart. But the sailor made promises he could not keep, whispering sweet words to each sister in secret.

When the truth came out, love turned to jealousy.

The sisters, once united, began to quarrel. Their bond shattered under the weight of betrayal. Angry words turned to curses, and curses echoed into the night as a storm rolled in from the sea.

Determined to confront the sailor, they followed him to the rocky edge of the island as the waves crashed violently against the shore.

There, in the middle of the storm, the sisters turned on one another.

Some say the sea itself rose in anger at what they had become. Others say an ancient spirit, watching from the depths, punished them for breaking the sacred bond of sisterhood.

As lightning split the sky, the three sisters were turned to stone where they stood.

By morning, the storm had passed. The sailor was gone.

And in the shallow waters just offshore, three rock formations stood in silence, side by side, facing the sea.

The people of Bimini say those rocks are the sisters, frozen forever in the moment their love turned to ruin.

Folklore story from the late 1700’s – 1800’s.
