The atheist cry’s
Please keep me anonymous. As the Atheist granddaughter of a Grandma and Grandad who were a real pair of Angry Atheists and the daughter of an Atheist Dad I was raised in an environment where beautiful art was beautiful art no matter it’s inspiration.
Grandma’s parents were Welsh and Grandad’s father was Irish and Mother Australian. They were both Choristers and met in the Choir. My family were and still are an all singing all dancing extravaganza.
Her Majesty’s service made me cry from beginning to end.
THE MUSIC!!!! THE ORGAN, THE BAGPIPES, THE MEN IN KILTS!! THE CHOIR and when those Treble voices hit the descants. 😩
My Atheist Dad cried every time he heard
Psalm 23 | The Lord’s My Shepherd | Crimond. The Scottish version.
One can happily leave the Religous bullshit behind but the Art whether it be sculpted, etched, painted or composed can not be denied.. And Christianity has done that really very well over the centuries.
They say it was the music which lured the peasants into the Cathedrals.
I simply could never turn my back on J.S Bach. The man was a pioneer.
And if anyone is interested in who wrote the Funeral March it was Chopin.
And then I wondered whom he may have originally written it for so I googled.
No one knows for sure exactly what inspired Chopin to write the march. But Kallberg says there’s evidence that he associated it with the Polish uprising of the 1830s. Chopin, who was born in Poland, sympathized with his countrymen in their revolt against the Russians.
