The engineering of consent is a concept developed by Edward Bernays, the father of public relations. It refers to the deliberate shaping of public opinion through propaganda, media, and psychological manipulation to make people accept decisions that benefit those in power, often without realizing they are being manipulated.

How it’s used annoyingly
Governments, corporations, and elites use engineered consent to make people agree to things they wouldn’t naturally accept. The tactic works by controlling the narrative and framing situations in a way that steers public emotions toward a desired outcome.

The Atlantis beach situation – a possible example

1. The problem is created
– A powerful hotel Atlantis marks off a public beach with “No Trespassing” signs, barring Bahamians from accessing land they legally have a right to use.
– This creates outrage among locals who know their rights.

2. People get angry and protest
– Bahamians start speaking out, demanding justice. Social media picks up the issue, and pressure builds.
– The government appears silent or weak at first, letting anger boil.

3. The government steps in as a savior
– After enough outrage, the government finally acts, possibly holding meetings, making statements, or even intervening to fix the problem.
– They appear as the heroes who restore Bahamians’ access, earning praise and political points.

4. The real agenda
– This whole cycle could have been planned. Atlantis gets away with testing the waters, the government gains political capital, and the public is fooled into believing their leaders fought for them when in reality, they may have been part of the problem from the start.
– Later, a new restriction could appear, repeating the cycle under a different excuse.

The art of consent engineering in this case
– Create the problem restricting access.
– Let the people react with anger and protests.
– Solve the problem you created to look like the hero.
– Gain trust and votes for fighting for the people.

It’s a classic psychological operation, one that keeps power in the hands of a few while making the public believe they won a victory.

Please don’t be dumb enough to fall for this old trick many governments even before this one has pulled this on Bahamians.

Be smart and ignore it because it’s not real. But if you’re just born dumb, go out and lose your mind over this by all means WAR with Atlantis and protest and have a Stroke later if you choose from engineered stress and then go vote and die later for the people who are smart enough to brainwash and fool you time and time again. 🎲

I’m just saying that it’s the oldest psychological trick in the book on the public.

So every time the pied Piper plays his flute, you’re going to dance?

Don’t fall for it.

Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!
