Pleasing God, Not Pride
Pleasing God, Not Pride
Some voices are not from God; some fights are not His. And when you know that, you must learn to lay them down, no matter how tempting the battle may be. My quarrel with Lincoln Deal II falls into that category. I’ve chosen to put it to rest, whether or not he chooses the same.
I’ve always believed that my calling is to serve the Master, not to seek the approval of the crowd. The world will cheer anger. The world will applaud retaliation. But God calls us to something higher.
Anger is easy, it’s loud, it’s visible, it makes us feel strong. But obedience is harder. It’s quiet, it’s humbling, and it demands we let go of our ego. Yet it is obedience that pleases God, not the flash of pride.
I know this much: I want to please God, not my own ego. My walk is not about proving myself in front of men, but about walking faithfully before the One who sees all. Some battles may win applause, but only surrender wins His favor.
And so, I lay this feud down. Not in defeat, but in obedience. Because peace with God is greater than victory over man.
But I will also be honest: I’ve felt the weight of personal attacks that reached into my own livelihood, attempts to stain my name and damage my path. That is why, at times, I retaliated without prayer first. I let anger answer before I let God lead.
Now, I choose differently. I seek peace with God 🕊️, not war with man.
