My best friend killed my brother
My best friend killed my brother
Good night Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. I can’t lie my lil brother was not an angel but he didn’t go around making trouble with nobody.
So when the family got the news that he had been gunned down in the streets we was surprised. My oldest sister called my phone crying saying that Mark was shot just now and they saying he dead.
My heart froze up like that of a Deadman. I immediately vomited on the floor where I was working. I told my sister to calm down asking her how do she know if it’s true?
She then sent me the whatsapp pictures of my lil brother laying in the fetus position all covered in blood with some of his brains hanging out of his head and his cell phone still in the closed grips of his hand.
I immediately broke down on my knees crying with my arms now dangling as I looked at the shattered pictures of what was once a big brother’s childhood nemesis. My baby brother.
Later on that day me and the family went down to the hospital mortuary along with my mommy to identify my baby brother’s body.
Something that no mother or father and family members should ever have to do other than because of old age sickness.
That night was the longest night of my adulthood. It felt like that night was a week long in one stretch.
Our home was full of moaning that night all the way into the dawn.
As daybreak invited the rays of the sunlight into our homes front room windows it seemed to had creeped in accompanying a strange fog.
Maybe it was the sorrowful spirit of my little brother re-entering our shattered household, or just the thickness of sadness that had just swiped though into our lives in the short space of just 16 hours and 36 minutes of the announcement of what had happened.
Week’s latter the RBPF tracked down the killer who had happened to be my little brothers best friend from young who later admitted to killing my brother over not wanting to join the neighborhood gang after repeatedly asking him to do so that same month and had been applying all kinds of peer pressure down on my brother because of it.
We buried my little brother the following Saturday with funeral expenses ranging over $25,000 because he had no life insurance.
From that day my mommy and sisters were never the same people. It’s like a part of them died and was buried along side my little brother that week in Nassau.
Me on the other hand I had to remain strong for everyone in order for the family to get though the loss of my little brother and a mother of her youngest child. With sisters who used to fight any boy in school over their baby brother.
My sister’s them really took it hard to. But still I had to be strong for the family.
Just three months later the Lord called my Mommy home up to heaven to be with her baby.
He was about to be 19 the following year and was rushing to get 21 my brother was like that. Everything had to happen fast for him or he would feel like nothing was happening.
That same year I gave my life to the Lord stopped hanging out with bad company after work and completely changed the way I think about life and the people I have in my circle.
I forgave my little brothers killer while me and the church often visits him in Foxhill prison ministering to him and sharing the good news with him.
We even became best friends with the love of God flowing between us both understanding that only what you do for Christ is gonna last.
My message to all of you young guys and a few older guys is, nobody’s your friend in this game where the streets is where you base your rules by.
For the streets don’t love nobody, not even herself. So I advise you to take this as a sign even just for you to come from out of the streets and change your life by first giving your life to the Lord and changing your circle of friends you keep.
Good night and thank you Bahama Drama for giving me a platform to tell my family story and experience. God bless!
