In conflict with my black side

Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. My what a great day to be alive is the first thing that I want to say because I don’t want anyone to think that I hate myself or is ungrateful for what God has blessed me to be.

My father is white from Abaco and my mom is black from crooked island both of them met in college States side as my mom was studying to be an account and my dad was in sports studying hotel management and hospitality.

My mom ended up getting pregnant with me and dropping out of school to returning home but first to Nassau to have me. She said that I was white white like snow when I was born and that I shit all over the place lol.

My mom never went back to school but my father finished his education and ended up working for a hotel in the states and ended up meeting and marrying this beautiful movie star that lasted for about 15 years so growing up I never knew my father.

And when I finally did meet him he was very judgmental and condescending towards me to the point that I no longer wanted to talk to him anymore, but one thing that he did say to me that stuck with me to this very day and

that’s just because your skin looks white doesn’t make me better than anybody because we’re all still human beings and die the same. I heard that he had other children all of which are white people from his then wife

I’ve never met them but my mom told me that it’s 6 of them and all of the are successful and have great jobs as I was getting my uniform ready for tonight’s night shift at this security guard job that I’ve been on for the past ten years

I wonder if my life would have been different if my dad would have made me with a less inferior race of people? Because even though my skin looks white like his

I know that I’m still black because of my uneducated black mom who should have given me to my father to begin with. I’ve never seen my dad since.

The color of the skin doesn’t make the man. It’s the concentration of values beneath it, that does…
