Good morning Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous.
I lost my brother to gang violence last year.
I miss him so much every day.
I just wish that his head wasn’t so hard and he listened to my Mommy when she used to tell him that if he hang with dogs he gonna catch fleas.
Well my brother was gun down in the streets like a dog.
We don’t even see none of his friends come around anymore.
After the funeral that was it.
They never stopped by the house and asked if we did need anything or nothing.
They was magically gone.
I know for a fact that my brother was a rider for his 1 order gang.
So as his little sister I bare witness that this gang life is some old fake friend bull shit.
His friends showed me that when you get mashed down on this road for loyalty everybody will continue life like you or your family never existed on planet earth.
So I’m glad that the month of January was declared anti-gang month by social media and Bahamian activists.
At least somebody will learn something.
Maybe.

Being involved in gangs is not worth losing your life over nor taking a life.
Joining a gang might feel good for a moment just to be accepted by your friends, but it comes with a price.
That price can be you or your loved ones.
