First day on the job
First day on the job
Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous.
Today’s my first day on the job and I’m very greatful because I got laid off almost 2 years ago and haven’t worked since until today.
I’m a cook by trade you see and I’ve been cooking ever since I was 3 years old my grandma used to say. My granny God bless her soul may she rest in peace. She raised me you see Mom died giving birth to me.
Grammy said that she was a heavy bleeder. I’m the same way and that’s why every cooking job that I’ve had I usually have to be careful when I’m handling food because I’m what they call a Hemophilia.
My last job I think I got fired for bleeding on the boil eggs that I was peeling the shells off of because the shell cut my finger and I started bleeding on the eggs and when I noticed it I stopped peeling the eggs to wash my fingers off and to rinse off the eggs and continued my work.
After I had finished making the eggs salad and seasoning my meats for the head cook my job was done.
So I went on lunch break. When I came from lunch break the management called me into her office and I was let go for no reason at all.
All she said was we have to let you go. I asked why and she told me that my contract is not with them but the job agency that sent me here and that’s all she is willing to say right now.
2 years later and I’m at another restaurant grating carrots for the cook.
You see how God always come through for his children I swear. I just want to thank God for not giving up on me as I will one day become the best Chef in the Bahamas with God’s help of course.
Can someone say AMEN with me? I’m so proud to be a Bahamian right now Lord I thank you.

Just don’t bleed in the carrots. Sorry I just had to say it seeing how you still made the eggs salad with those same eggs that your blood was on.
