Ma’am, who is “they”…??? I believe the ” they” you are referring to is WE, BAHAMIANS.
This situation did not happen overnight. Years back, when Bahamians used to hire undocumented Haitians to weed their yard, they had contributed to the problem. The fact is, WE CREATED THE PROBLEM!
Now, level heads must prevail in this nation to resolve it in a human and just manner.
Our immigration laws allow for those who are born here to apply for citizenship. But after they obtained Bahamian status, we continue to decimate against them and call them “Haitian” or paper Bahamian. So, if you are not willing to treat these individuals like fellow Bahamians, naturally, they are going to live among their own in ghettos where they are accepted and NOT3 ostracized.
