Please keep me anonymous cause I just want to say BTC ain’t making no kinda scene in Exuma.

They been down for a whole 2 weeks & are crippling businesses as a result that use credit card machines and online banking.

Because of this many of our ATM’S are not working on the island.

Another thing I want to ask is why do Scotia bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of the Bahamas and Common Wealth bank make it so difficult for small businesses on all of the island’s access to their credit card machines so that they can except credit card payment?

Don’t they know credit card machines equals tourists dollar’s for many on these island’s? The government need to step in and put some kinda legislation in place to ensure that the process of islander’s applying for these machines and quick and easy.

Why island people is have to go through so much for many vital service’s that the Capital take for granted daily?

I’ve learned to think like a duck

I’ve learned to think like a duck

Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. I live on one of the island’s of Exuma. A place of tranquility & peace. Truly it’s a multitude of island’s where God’s spirit is always present.

Being a woman from Nassau I was delighted to come here and finally find peace and harmony throughout this settlement as I decided to settle in. I found a job in the town which I’m not afraid to admit really didn’t pay as much as I was use to earning but it kept me afloat for a while here.

A few months later I got word that Sandals on the main island was hiring so I went there and applied and got the job.

I worked long and hard for many months and later decided to quit the day that I wisdom was given to me by the ducks that lived in their ponds.

One afternoon after leaving work I decided to rest myself by one of their ponds deciding the way forward should I go back to Nassau or stay in Exuma working hard continuing what they call this rat race.

And believe it or not I started feeling all sad for myself and my struggle as I really didn’t have nobody family or friends here to air out my problems to.

So as the ducks in the pond started to come closer to me as maybe they thought that I had food or something I started to tell all of my problems to them as not they where close enough to me and surly could hear me.

As I was talking to them about everything one of the smaller of the ducks I think it was just a baby maybe a few weeks old said to me so clearly in English that her Mommy makes her swim everyday and she doesn’t even like the water.

I swear that’s what she said to me and instantly the mother who was much closer to me said to her as she looked back at her

what did I tell you about talking to humans! I was like what the Hell.

In surprise I said Mrs she was only trying to make me feel better.

The Mommy duck then asked me what was the matter. I told her that I was really tired as a Bahamian of struggling no matter where I went in my country and that I felt like this would be something that I’d have to do for my entire life.

The mother duck then asked me what it was that I wanted to do with my life.

I told her that when I was younger that I wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. She asked me what was a nurse and I told her that it was a woman that helped people who are sick.

She then told me the story about the frog and mosquitoe a story that I had never heard before.

She said that her mother told her that before humans where around on earth that frogs and mosquitoes always complained to the other animals about how hard they had to work just to make a living and eat.

She said that all of the other animals use to talk bad about the frog’s all of the time saying how lazy they were and how they always just up and left they kid’s after they were born in the world without regrets or consideration for the other aquatic animals that shared the water.

She said that the mosquitoes would complain to the other insect’s about how unruly tadpoles where to their children and would even murder them as food.

She then said that they all of a sudden stopped all of the complaining when humans came along because the frog’s now had to find a place to live away from humans that was safe and the mosquitoes had more food than they could have ever dreamed of on the island.

I then asked her if she could adopt me as one of her own and teach me how to become as wise as her and maybe even become a duck just like her.

Her answer was she doesn’t know me like that and I might be on some kinda drugs. I assured her that I didn’t do drugs nor was I on any kinda drugs.

She then asked me how is it then that we can fully understand each other?

All I could say to myself was, AIN’T THAT SOME SHIT?

Please stop haunting my mind

Please stop haunting my mind

Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. There is this woman that I’m secretly in love with I believe, or maybe it’s just a strong infatuation. I really can’t tell the difference right now in my head because they both feels the same way to me bro.

But if you could I’d like to say to her and her alone, how I really feel about her in what might be a poem; I’m not really sure what it will be but, it is the truth, the whole truth so help me God. I now attach all of my feelings towards her in this letter to her without including her name.

And if by any chance she feels anything towards me the same, she’ll know automatically that this letter was from me to her.

I saw you today and my heart was instantly held hostage by the sight of your splendor and beauty.

As I tried to look away from you and at the same time imprison my eyes from the sight of you, I knew that I struggled in vain.

How could just one look into your eyes cast such a powerful spell upon me?

What have I done to deserve such a prison? One in which truthfully my loving heart yarns to never leave.

You speak to me and the whole world around me goes mute.

Even the sounds of sirens from a fire truck can’t be heard by these ear’s of mine whom becomes subjugated to the sound of your voice and your every word.

The sight of you have always been a heavy load on my chest.

And the possibilities of you and I being together have never given this restless mind of mine, any kind of rest; thus the first day that we met.

If ever I was granted 3 wishes, they’d all be about you and me, a waste of numbers 2 and 3.

Please take my heart, it belongs to you obviously, as it continues to do your bidding even though I’m feeding it with blood and oxygen.

It’s a hell of a grip a hold you’ve got on me. Unlike Kunta Kinte, I Don’t Want to Be Free!

Call me today: 817-549*
