Yeah but you should have told them your age and pay close attention to how you dress.
The engineering of consent is a concept developed by Edward Bernays, the father of public relations. It refers to the deliberate shaping of public opinion through propaganda, media, and psychological manipulation to make people accept decisions that benefit those in power, often without realizing they are being manipulated.
How it’s used annoyingly
Governments, corporations, and elites use engineered consent to make people agree to things they wouldn’t naturally accept. The tactic works by controlling the narrative and framing situations in a way that steers public emotions toward a desired outcome.
The Atlantis beach situation – a possible example
1. The problem is created
– A powerful hotel Atlantis marks off a public beach with “No Trespassing” signs, barring Bahamians from accessing land they legally have a right to use.
– This creates outrage among locals who know their rights.
2. People get angry and protest
– Bahamians start speaking out, demanding justice. Social media picks up the issue, and pressure builds.
– The government appears silent or weak at first, letting anger boil.
3. The government steps in as a savior
– After enough outrage, the government finally acts, possibly holding meetings, making statements, or even intervening to fix the problem.
– They appear as the heroes who restore Bahamians’ access, earning praise and political points.
4. The real agenda
– This whole cycle could have been planned. Atlantis gets away with testing the waters, the government gains political capital, and the public is fooled into believing their leaders fought for them when in reality, they may have been part of the problem from the start.
– Later, a new restriction could appear, repeating the cycle under a different excuse.
The art of consent engineering in this case
– Create the problem restricting access.
– Let the people react with anger and protests.
– Solve the problem you created to look like the hero.
– Gain trust and votes for fighting for the people.
It’s a classic psychological operation, one that keeps power in the hands of a few while making the public believe they won a victory.
Please don’t be dumb enough to fall for this old trick many governments even before this one has pulled this on Bahamians.
Be smart and ignore it because it’s not real. But if you’re just born dumb, go out and lose your mind over this by all means WAR with Atlantis and protest and have a Stroke later if you choose from engineered stress and then go vote and die later for the people who are smart enough to brainwash and fool you time and time again. 🎲
I’m just saying that it’s the oldest psychological trick in the book on the public.
So every time the pied Piper plays his flute, you’re going to dance?
Don’t fall for it.
Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!

Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous! Last this month I started on my new job at the mall as a cashier for this shop the owner trained me and everything was going just fine the owner showed me everything that I needed to know and told me if things get complicated just call him and he would help me out.
I’m 19 years old I have a daughter and I’m also trying to get take some side classes to earning a certificate in nursing. Today the owners wife came up standing behind me as I was cashing making me all nervous again making me panic which I hadn’t done for like 2 weeks now so I started missing up straight though
so she said move let me get these people out of the way because it’s obvious you don’t know what your doing here. So I moved out of the way and she started cashing up the long line of customers that had now formed because she had me missing up because her standing behind me made me panic.
So after she had then cashed all the customers up she gah say to me I hope you ain’t here to try sleep with my husband because I know how y’all young girls go!
I said excuse Ma’am!
She said you can’t cash you don’t know what your doing and it looks like all he hired you for is looks because you don’t know what your doing and I don’t know why he put you on register and rolled her eyes at me!
I was so hurt that I felt like crying because this is my first time ever even seeing the owners wife and my coworkers had to tell me who she was this morning when I came in to work.
So she told me to go clean out the storage room to make myself useful. I walked off with my head hanging low because I wanted to say something back because I was holding back my tears and I didn’t say nothing back because I needed this job Bahama Drama so I started doing what she told me to do until it was lunch break.
The owner was back in when I came back from lunch break and he asked me why I ain’t on the register?
I told him that your wife told me to clean out the storage room!
He said no I hired you to cash, not clean I already have someone for that go log back into the register. So I walked back to the front to go cash but his wife was still there cashing and I told her what her husband said so she got mad and later wrote me up after her husband had left the shop again.
Lord I don’t know how I’m supposed to make it in this world sometimes because it looks like the more I try, the harder things is get for me and my child.
I don’t know!
