Could Prime Minister KC Rt. Hon. Philip Brave Davis possibly be a political chess strategy genius? That is the question being asked across the nation today by political supporters and enthusiasts.
In a dramatic turn of events in the political arena, House Speaker Patricia Deveaux has taken decisive action by suspending six opposition members from the House of Assembly for the next two sessions.
Among those suspended are key members of the Free National Movement, including Party Leader Michael Pintard and Deputy Leader Shannon Don Cartwright. This move leaves former Prime Minister Hubert Minnis as the sole opposition member permitted to participate in the next two parliamentary sittings.
The situation has reignited questions about internal dynamics within the FNM. Just months ago, the party leadership imposed a gag order on Dr. Hubert Minnis, effectively silencing the former party leader and ex-prime minister. Now, with his colleagues suspended, Minnis finds himself as the lone voice of opposition in Parliament. Could this unexpected twist position Dr. Minnis as the de facto leader of the Free National Movement once again?
This development also raises speculation about whether this moment is positioning Dr. Minnis as the FNM’s potential 2026 challenger to Prime Minister Brave Davis and the Progressive Liberal Party government.
The suspension marks a critical juncture in Bahamian politics, with many questioning the future direction of the opposition. Stay tuned as we continue to follow this unfolding story.
Is Prime Minister KC Rt. Hon. Philip Brave Davis truly the ultimate political chess master of the century?

Well, I’m not into politics, but I must say, suspending the six and leaving Dr. Minnis in was a brilliant political chess move. From my perspective, this is likely to cause internal friction within the Free National Movement, especially among the anti-Minnis factions in the party. As I said before Brave Davis might actually be a political chess genius.
