Being raped changed me
Being raped changed me
Good Morning Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous.
I just wanted to share my story with you all because people like to judge people like me without truly understanding.
No child wishes to be a prostitute when they grow up.
Hopefully after you all read my story you’ll think twice before you judge us or ridicule us.
If you don’t know my story, you will never understand my pain.
Anyways, when I was younger I was raped over and over again.
The first time I was raped by my church youth leader.
Second time I was raped while I was walking home from school.
Third time I was raped by my uncle but my family hide it.
When they hide it, it’s like it encouraged him to keep having sex with me without my consent.
Eventually I went numb.
When I got older I left home and tried to make a life for myself but my hyper sexuality would not allow it.
Somehow I wanted sex more and more each day.
With anyone it didn’t matter.
I used protection but if I felt like I could trust them sometimes I wouldn’t.
It reached to the point where I started having sex with strangers to provide for myself.
You guys may call it prostitution but in reality it’s the only way I felt I could cope with the sexual trauma I endured for so many years.
I’ve sought out support groups and I have listened to the stories of other survivors like me.
Please stop judging us.
With sexual trauma it’s hard to say how it will affect you.
You can never want to experience sex again, keep having sex because you crave it so much, be a “freak” as you guys call it and it goes on and on.
These are the ways we cope with it.
Sometimes no amount of counseling can heal the pain and emotional suffering we have endured.
Sometimes if someone doesn’t want to have sex with us we don’t feel loved, attractive or appreciated.
The affects of sexual trauma goes deep.
I just wanted to share my story because the topic is there staring at us in the faces but we ignore it.
It exists!
We don’t plan our lives like this, we do what we can to survive.
PAGE REPLY:
So sorry you had to go through this.
Anyone can heal from pain but you must first forgive.
Not just those that stole your innocence but forgive yourself.
With time try not to have sex for 1 week, and when you have achieved this try for 2 weeks.
It’s a slow process to wean yourself from craving sex.
Remember God loves you.
This too shall pass, God can deliver you from this.
Seek him and you will find comfort.
