Because I’m a mother
Because I’m a mother
Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. First off I’d like to thank God for life health and strength. Many people who I knew yesterday aren’t here today.
One of the world’s major holidays are about to take place again. Yes I’m talking about the Thanksgiving holiday. But you know being a young single mother of 13 kids the holidays never had the same exciting effects on me as it do with others.
Though I’m thankful for God’s grace the holidays always meant watching my kids express their sadness and disappointment of being apart of the family that God has put them in.
Thanksgiving day only came once a year to highlight an empty refrigerator and bare cabinets for lack of groceries and my once again silently crying somewhere in my broken down apartment building .
Where’s my kids daddy is a question that a lot of women like to though at young single mothers like me with a lot of children. But that’s my point all of my children are from 2 men one died in a car accident and the other one died of cancer 6 years ago. I’ve been to social services more time’s then their own staff show up late to
work.
But I’m usually chastised for having so many children and running out of food so quickly. My oldest daughter is off to school in London studying law and the rest of my children are in primary and high school with the second oldest constantly asking me can he drop out of school to get a job just so that he can give his mommy a helping hand.
But I always rebuke him telling him that he is going off to school to be a doctor in the family because he loves health science and all of my children since beginning school always had high grades and all homework and assignments I always made sure that they were completed and brought back to their schools.
I’m just hoping that God works something out for my kids this Thanksgiving holiday because one thing about being a mother is seeing the sadness of your children’s faces after going without food and other necessary necessities can break even the strongest mother down to small pieces.
But most single women without children wouldn’t understand that. Only a mother could understand this. God bless your page Bahama Drama and please keep me in your prayers Sir/Ma’am.
