Bahamian children forced into sex labor

Good afternoon Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous. I’ve tried everything I’ve prayed hard I’ve gone to every place possible in Harbour Island looking for employment but I didn’t find anything

The only anything left for me to do is to sell my body because my Mommy isn’t doing so well as she has cancer really bad and I’m the oldest one

Everything is looking down even with the small efficiency that we are in in Governor’s Harbor mainly because now it belongs to my father’s other wife

and now that he’s passed away from last year his new wife who is our new landlord has been trying to put my Mommy out of my daddy’s place from last year

I think she is trying to sell the place.

Even though coming on here and telling my story people are going to judge me I know that

and I know that people are going to say that I shouldn’t do this but I’m 17 years old now and I have four younger brothers much younger than me and they depend on

my Mommy for everything but right now my Mommy’s cancer have gotten worse in her and my Mommy can’t walk by herself right now because of it

So I been going out for 3 weeks now looking for anything that I can do including selling coconut water for a man on the side of the road

But he just wanted to sleep with me and never paid me for the 2 weeks that I worked for him. He was a married man to and was trying to get me to come to his house to have sex with him

but I didn’t want to at the time because I was still trying to do the right thing and make my Mommy proud.

After I left there I started looking for work but everybody was telling me that they wasn’t hiring at this time.

So now we are getting kicked out of our apartment and we have nowhere else to go. So the landlord tell my Mommy that we have to be out by Monday

So right now I’m willing to do anything to hold my family together and we don’t want to live with our daddy’s brother because his wife don’t like us

and my Mommy ain’t going to have nowhere else to go. So I’m willing to have sex with somebody for $5,000.00 dollars. But I’m not going to nobody’s house by myself.
