What Happens When You Give Gifts to God? The Lost Books Speak

We all know the Bible talks about offerings, but what about the books that never made it into the canon, the so-called lost books? These ancient writings give us a powerful, and sometimes shocking, answer to the question: What does God actually do when you give Him gifts?

Not the Gift, but the Heart

In the Life of Adam and Eve, the very first humans tried to bring offerings of fasting, ashes, and prayer. Sometimes God accepted them, but only when they were sincere. When pride crept in, He held back His blessing. The message? God isn’t impressed by the object — He looks at the heart of the giver.

Blessings Through Covenant

The Book of Jubilees says that after Noah gave an offering, God responded with a covenant promise: never again would the flood destroy the earth. Abraham’s tithes, too, were received with blessing. Gifts given with gratitude opened the door to covenant and protection.

Rejected Offerings

But not every gift is welcome. In the Testament of Levi, God is clear: offerings from corrupt hands are a stench to Him. Likewise, 1 Enoch says God rejects the gifts of the wicked, refusing to be “bribed” by sacrifices while injustice continues. To God, a wicked man’s offering is worthless.

Gifts that Count the Most

The Shepherd of Hermas flips the script: the greatest gift you can give God isn’t gold, grain, or sacrifice at an altar. It’s charity and mercy. When you give to the poor, Hermas says, God treats it as though you placed that gift directly in His heavenly treasury.

The Takeaway

So what does God do when you give Him gifts?

If your offering is humble and sincere, He accepts it with blessing.

If your hands are wicked or unjust, He rejects it.

If you give charity to others, He counts it as a direct gift to Himself.

The lost books remind us: God can’t be bought. He isn’t after your things, He’s after your heart, your justice, and your mercy.

👉 What do you think?
Does this make sense to you, that God values justice and charity more than burnt offerings? Or do you believe ritual sacrifice still matters most?

Drop your thoughts below and let’s see where this discussion goes.

Bahama Drama Life Lesson

Bahama Drama Life Lesson

One thing I’ve learned over the years is this: not everyone will like you, no matter how good you are.

Sometimes people will treat you badly without ever really knowing you. Why? Because they’ve already done evil behind your back, based on lies or gossip they heard about you. And now, instead of admitting they were wrong, they keep doubling down on their hate.

Deep down, they know you’re a good person. But if they ever admitted it, they’d have to face their own guilt. And that’s something their pride won’t let them do. So the coward in them chooses the easier path, continuing to dislike you and mistreat you, just so they never have to deal with the truth.

Just know you’re own worth and you’ll be just fine…

Public Schools Security Companies

Are writing to us saying that they are tired of excuses and late payments from government every month.

They tell us that if they don’t get paid on time, they’re employees don’t get paid on time which in terms make them and their company look bad especially when employees complain on social media platforms about not getting paid on time.

We want the ministry to get they’re shit right and pay us on time. That’s why many Bahamian’s would rather do something else instead of security guard work because they want their money on time, but Haitians don’t care as long as they have a job and money is coming soon.

Bahama Drama please keep me anonymous and thanks for being a voice for the voiceless in the Bahamas.

Well that’s just good business practices to pay on time for work done by any entity. This should be looked into and addressed…
